Drunk Bay (2023)

A meditation on loss, resilience, and the beauty found in transformation.

Drunk Bay is a sculpted piece incorporating metal, aluminum, and wood, woven together in reflection on the dying coral reefs. The piece was inspired by a stunning fan coral found washed ashore on St. John’s Island in the Virgin Islands—a fragile remnant of life once thriving beneath the waves.

This work became a deeply personal process, intertwining grief, change, and unexpected beauty. The act of bending and weaving metal mirrored the cathartic process of navigating loss—a physical and mental meditation on impermanence and renewal.
